I have been featured....

So excited to that I have been featured this week on The Girl Creative. Oh and did I mention that there is a giveaway going on this week for one item from my Etsy Store of your choice. Going to be working on a lot of things this week so stay tuned on some new items.... and in the next few weeks I will have tons more items added to my Etsy Store as I am lining up some wonderful Photographers to tell you all about and take beautiful pictures of my hand crochet photo props and baby items. Pictures are of a few things I made this weekend. One is a Ruffle Diaper Cover in Beautiful Spring colors with a headband to match for my mom to give as a baby gift and the other is me playing with some bulkier yarns. Nice spring beanie. Happy St Patrick's fingers still busy.

I have been trying to work on something every day as a theme. I did Monkey hats and made 3 then today I decided I would do 3 Hello Kitty Hats. Normally I just do the no Ear Flap because I think they are so cute for the older girls but I decided to try with ear flaps. I am going to add the ear flap one to my Etsy store because I got a lot of people saying they liked that one. I am Sooooo excited to get these off to the photographers to see how they turn out. I am really getting excited about my business. I was even accepted for a HUGE craft show and that was just amazing to me since I have always thought my items were so over populated how can I stand out. Have you ever felt that way? Have you wondered how you will make a name for yourself?

Daily Personal note, Today was St Patrick's day and well in my house we make Corned Beef and Cabbage and it is a tradition. Tonight we were supposed to have friends over so they backed out but my husband cooked 2 crockpots full, 2 on the stove top and 2 in the oven. That is 6 corned beef. OMG it was so yummy but you can only eat so much. Even us as a family of 9 sharing with the Great Dane cant eat that much. So I have been going over ideas in my head of ways to use the left overs. Fingers have been busy..

Happy Wednesday, I have been busy with fast fingers working on some new hats and some things for some new photographers. I LOVE the monkey hat it is one of my favorites, and wait until you see this Jester curls hat on a baby. They are so cute. I cant wait until I get them to the photographers and get pictures back. I have so many more to make and just cant wait to share them with you.

On a personal note, my 4 year old is growing up so fast. She learned how to put the Just Dance 2 in the Wii all by herself and just dances for hours and is not that bad. Now she has something to do while mommy works and crochets. hehe Have a great Wednesday.

Another week gone by....and no cute pics to share

Okay there are not enough days in the week or hours in the day. I almost dont even like sharing my next finished project until I have a professional picture to share but I cant wait. I have so many things that I want to create and share. I have met some wonderful photographers this week and I will be getting things out to them asap. I cant wait to share more things that I have made and after this weekend I am finally excited about my business and how it is slowly growing. I am proud to share the pictures that I have gotten back so far and I am proud to share my work now that I have seen it put to good use. I LOVE to crochet and it calms me and reminds me of my grandma. Sometimes when I am stuck on a pattern I think of her and wish I could call her and have her help me out. Instead I have to take it apart and start over, but because of her teaching me all those years ago I keep moving forward. I wont mention how many years ago dont want to give away my age. Welcome to all my new followers and thank you for the wonderful comments, keep checking back I will be adding new things hopefully every other day if not daily.

On a personal non business mom side, why is my 4 year old afraid to go potty? She is never going to grow out of this and we will be missing pre-school. Well that is how I feel. I have tried everything. Any suggestions.

Another wonderful Photographer

Happy Saturday. I got another photo back from a photographer that I am working with to get some photos of my crochet work done for my Etsy Shop. I have contacted some great photographers and look forward to working with them all. Tam Magdaleno right here in San Diego did such a beautiful job on this photo. Every time I look at it I think my hard work is so well worth it. I just loved this Ruffle Diaper Cover and Headband but it didnt really come alive for me until I saw this picture. It just melts my heart to see how beautiful the baby looks. So sweet and peaceful. Thank you Tam for your wonderful work! Happy Saturday.

Overwhelmed with emotions

I dont even know where to begin. I am just so overwhelmed with emotions that I dont know what to say really. I have been working on some hats and props for photographers for a little over a week almost two weeks now and shipped and dropped some stuff off. Today I got the first picture back from one of the photographers and I am SO happy. Amanda at Amanda Thompson Photography did such a good job with my Bunny Hat Photo Prop. I have been crocheting for years and I have been trying to turn my love fro crochet into a business for I cant even tell you how long. This year I told myself I was going to jump in 100% and go for it. I was told to work on my pictures and I am so happy to all of those that shared that with me. I know its just one picture but I look at it and think wow I actually made that hat. It looks so much better on a real model with a professional picture then when I crochet it and lay it on my table and take a picture with my camera phone. It makes me feel proud of my work. I cant even express how excited I am and how I want to share this picture with everyone and even though I have lots more work to do and well still have to make a sell. This is a first step and I want to make up a sample of every hat and photo prop I make and ship them to any photographer that will have me and get all my stuff photographed this way. Thank you to all those that have put up with my rants and raves this week. I am feeling good right now and I just want to get some more stuff done. Work comes first but I hope to have another box or two out to photographers next week. I am working with some great ones and look forward to sharing more of their work and mine with you. Few new items, diaper covers and loving them

Been working on some more items for some photographers. I worked on the ruffle one forever it seemed I could not get it the way I wanted it to look. Dont you just hate when you do something over and over and your just not happy with it? I still have to add these things to my Etsy store, but for now they are in the photographers hands and tomorrow is the shoot. I am so excited to see pictures. I think this hard work is going to pay off, but right now my eyes and fingers are saying other wise. I am networking and meeting lots of others that are so wonderful and some of my readers and new followers have left some really good comments. I have enjoyed reading them all. I saw a picture today that was of a baby in one of my hats and I have to say that it does make a HUGE difference when you see your work on a baby and not laying flat on a table. I will post some pictures when I get some back. I cant wait for your feedback on my diaper covers. I always look forward to it.
